기억이 없다. 누구인가? 무엇을 하고 있는가? 세빌은 마법 아카데미의 학생으로, 학교에 입학하기 전의 모든 기억을 잃었다. 그곳에 왜 있는지 이해하지 못하며, 아카데미 생활은 공허하고 무의미하게 느껴진다. 노력하는 법도 모르니 성적도 항상 최하위다. 그러던 어느 날, 교장 알버스는 세빌에게 위험한 특별 훈련에 참여하라고 명령한다.
