가난하지만 정의감 넘치는 사립탐정 란마와 스릴을 즐기는 부유한 소녀 렐라는 키리타운의 위험한 거리에서 어울리지 않는 짝을 이룬다. 마피아 보스와의 충돌로 인해 치명적인 교통사고를 당한 후, 란마는 사고 현장에 도착하지만 며칠이 지난 지금 렐라는 어디에도 없다. 파트너의 행방을 밝히기 위해 다시 사건에 뛰어든 란마는 자정이 되자 몸이 변하기 시작한다. 란마 대신 렐라가 나타나며, 두 탐정은 각자 떨어져 있으면서도 협력하며 정상적인 몸을 되찾기 위해 노력한다. 동시에 도시의 최악의 악당들과 맞서 싸우며 사건을 해결해야 하는 긴박한 일상을 보낸다.

Ranma is a poor private detective with a strong sense of justice. His partner, Rella, is a thrill-seeking rich girl. They make for an odd couple on the dangerous streets of Kirin Town, until a run-in with a mafia boss ends up in a near-fatal car accident. Ranma wakes up at the scene, but it is days later and Rella is nowhere in sight. He gets back on the case to find out what happened to his partner, but at the stroke of midnight, a metamorphosis occurs, as Ranma is replaced by Rella. Now every day is a race against time as the two detectives, somehow working together though always apart, try to get their normal bodies back while taking on cases and struggling to survive against the city’s vilest villains.
