사랑하는 이를 잃은 두 사람에게 해변 여행은 예상치 못한 변화를 가져옵니다. 아마도 신비로운 소녀 '바다의 아이'가 그들의 상처를 치유하고 삶을 이어갈 수 있도록 도울지도 모릅니다.
고등학교 학생들의 여름 해변 여행에서 가이드 역할을 맡은 요시히로 마츠나가는 밤에 한 학생, 노 모리사와를 자살 시도에서 구해냅니다. 노는 작년에도 같은 여행에 fiancé와 함께 있었으나 비행기 사고로 잃었습니다. 두 사람이 점점 가까워지면서 요시히로 역시 과거의 고통스러운 비밀을 지니고 있음이 밝혀집니다. 모든 것을 지켜보는 것은 결정적 순간마다 항상 나타나는 신비로운 소녀입니다.

A trip to the beach turns out to be more than expected for two people who are mourning the losses of their beloved. Perhaps a mysterious girl known as the "Umi Warabe" can help them to heal their wounds and move on with their lives.
Yoshihiro Matsunaga is the chaperone for a group of high-school students on a summer trip to the beach. One night he saves one of the students, Nao Morisawa, as she attempts to drown herself. She had been on this same trip a year ago, with her fiancee, who was later killed in a plane crash. As these two get to know each other, we find that Yoshihiro also has a painful secret from his past. Watching over everything is a mysterious young girl who somehow is always there at decisive moments.
