태어나자마자 어린 다람쥐가 농장에 도착하고 인간에게 잡히게 됩니다. 그 인간은 다람쥐를 반려 고양이에게 찾으려 하지만, 고양이는 다람쥐에게 연민을 느껴 그를 자식으로 입양하고 이름을 배너라고 지어줍니다. 배너와 고양이는 농장에서 행복하게 살지만, 불행히도 화재로 농장이 파괴되고 배너는 고양이 어머니와 헤어지게 됩니다.

Soon after birth a young squirrel comes to a farm, and gets caught by a human. This human then tries to find him to their pet cat. However, the cat feels sorry for the squirrel and adopts him as their child and names the squirrel Banner. Banner and the cat live happily in the farm, but their happy lives don't last long. A fire destroys the farm, and Banner gets separated from his mother the cat.
